UKCG has established a clear dialogue between major companies and CITB ConstructionSkills in 2009. The UKCG Training sub group provides a forum for the industry board members of CITB and ConstructionSkills to gain feedback from the industry. .
Key areas of activity in 2010 are:
Diversity
Following EHRC's critical report on the industry UKCG intends to engage with them to help develop a programme to effect change. As a first step it has set up a group of HR directors to look at what actions might be taken. A main focus will be on spreading lessons learned from successful diversity projects.
Apprentices
This task group will review current involvement by individual UKCG members organisations and the current industry initiatives. It will work closely with the CCATF and make proposals for collective action by UKCG
Universities
This task group will map current involvement by individual UKCG members organisations and also input via other organisations. It will seek examples of best practice and make recommendations for collective action by UKCG
