The primary aim of the UKCG Environment sub-group is to be a focal point for the development and dissemination of environmental best practice within the construction industry. The group is supported by a series of task groups that are focusing in the following key areas:
Carbon
Water
Materials
Waste
Biodiversity
Community.
Aims
Sharing best practice and developing common standards.
Measuring individual environmental performance and aggregating results to demonstrate continual improvement
Ensuring that the environmental awareness and skills of the industry meets the current and future needs
Influencing policy makers and legislators so that environmental legislation introduced or amended is practicable for our industry
Maintaining a close liaison with environmental regulators to ensure fair and consistent implementation of enforcement processes
